‘The Mick’: New Fox Comedy Gets Order For Four Additional Episodes – TCA
Boosted by an NFL double-header as a lead-in, the special premiere of The Mick on Sunday, Jan. 1, drew a 3.7 rating among Adults 18-49, the highest-rated comedy debut on Fox since New Girl. While it dropped significantly in its regular time period premiere on Tuesday, The Mick still posted the network’s highest rated Tuesday entertainment telecast of the season.
For even more exposure, The Mick is getting another special airing this coming Sunday following The Simpsons‘ first-ever one-hour episode.
The Mick is a comedy about an unapologetic degenerate (Olson) who suddenly finds herself stuck raising her spoiled niece (Sofia Black-D’Elia”) and nephews (Thomas Barbusca, Jack Stanton) in affluent Greenwich, CT. The series also stars Carla Jimenez (“Last Man Standing”) and newcomer Scott MacArthur. The Mick, from 20th Century Fox Television, was created/written by John Chernin and Dave Chernin who executive produce with Nicholas Frenkel and Oly Obst, along with Randall Einhorn, who directed the pilot episode. Olson is a co-executive producer.
