Hulu Sets Premiere Dates For ‘Handmaid’s Tale’, ‘The Path’ & Two New Series
Still hot off its surprising Emmy win for Outstanding Drama Series, The Handmaid’s Tale will launch its second season in April, Hulu said today. The streaming service also set premiere dates for Season 3 of The Path and the first runs of new limited series The Looming Tower and new drama Hard Sun.
The first season of The Handmaid’s Tale was huge for Hulu, taking over the pop culture conversation and earning the service its first outstanding series Emmy among five wins overall. Star Elisabeth Moss also won her first career Emmy on her ninth nom.
Season 3 of The Path bows January 17 and adds Guerrilla star Freida Pinto in a key series-regular role opposite Aaron Paul on the drama series created by Jessica Goldberg.
The Looming Tower is a 10-episode limited series adaptation of Lawrence Wright’s Pulitzer-winning 9/11 exposé from executive producers Dan Futterman, Alex Gibney and Legendary Television. It premieres on February 28. Debuting on March 7, Fellow rookie Hard Sun is a pre-apocalyptic crime drama from Luther creator Neil Cross that stars Jim Sturgess (Cloud Atlas) and Agyness Deyn as London detectives, partners and enemies who seek to enforce the law and protect their loved ones in a world that every day slips closer to certain destruction.
